SKIN CARE WITH INTEGRITY

Skin that glows today,

and gets better

with time.

That post-treatment glow? It’s just the beginning. Beneath the surface, your skin is quietly rebuilding itself — more collagen and elastin, smoother texture, and lasting resilience. Microneedling won’t freeze time, but it will help your skin age beautifully on its own terms.

ABOUT YOUR PRACTITIONER

Registered Nurse.
Skin Health Advocate

Hi! I’m Emily, a Registered Nurse with a passion for health, wellness, and radiant skin. In an industry pushing endless treatments, I was looking for a more natural approach to anti-aging; something that would keep my skin healthy and my complexion youthful. My research led me to microneedling, and well… That’s how Microneedle & Co. came to be!

After graduating in 2019, I have worked as a nurse in the hospital, public health, addictions medicine, and community support services. But, I’ve always had a deep interest in beauty and skincare. So in 2024, I completed certification courses in microneedling, PRP preparation/administration, Botox, dermal fillers, facials and body sugaring. Although I started with a broader scope, I’ve intentionally chosen to focus on the one treatment I truly love.

I now operate a private home-based clinic, and my practice is guided by honesty, safety, and client comfort.  Looking forward to meeting you!

01

Skin Rejuvenation

Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling triggers your skin’s natural healing response — stimulating collagen and elastin, the building blocks that keep skin firm, plump and youthful.

Think of collagen as your skin’s scaffolding — what keeps it firm and supported — and elastin as what gives it bounce. As we age, production of both naturally slows down. Microneedling essentially tricks your skin into repair mode, ramping it back up.

The result? Softer fine lines, reduced acne scarring, smaller looking pores, and a more even complexion over time.

Sterile hyaluronic acid is used throughout your treatment to allow the device to glide comfortably — and yours to take home for post-treatment care.

I use the Xcellaris Pro TWIST by Dermaroller — a Health Canada approved device chosen for both its proven results and its safety profile. Not all microneedling devices are created equal.

Microneedling Enhancements

Enhance your results with PRF or an advanced serum — applied topically during your treatment for optimal absorption through the micro-channels created during your session.

PRF — Platelet Rich Fibrin — is derived from your own blood, making it one of the most natural and biocompatible treatments available. A small blood draw is taken, spun in a centrifuge to isolate platelets, white blood cells, and fibrin — all rich in the growth factors and signalling proteins your body uses to heal and regenerate. Unlike PRP, PRF contains no anticoagulants or additives. It’s your body’s own healing power, concentrated and put to work.

Advanced Serums — Blood draws make you squeamish? No worries! Incorporating a topical serum application is a great alternative. I use ReadyMedical serums, tailored to your specific skin goals and mixed fresh for every treatment. They contain peptides and growth factors that essentially tell your skin how to better heal and repair after the microtrauma of microneedling. All formulations are sterile and preservative-free.

Body Care

Scars and stretch marks form when skin heals rapidly without enough collagen to rebuild properly — leaving behind damaged, uneven tissue. Microneedling triggers a fresh healing response in that same tissue.

Over repeated sessions, collagen and elastin gradually fill in the damaged area — remodelling the skin and visibly reducing the appearance of scars and stretch marks over time.

Hair Restoration

Thinning hair is more common than most people talk about — and microneedling can be an effective, minimally invasive ways to address it.

By creating micro-injuries along the scalp, we stimulate blood flow and collagen production around the hair follicles — essentially waking them up and giving them the environment they need to grow stronger, thicker hair.

The scalp hair growth program is a 16-week protocol of 8 sessions spaced two weeks apart. The package includes all sessions, professional-grade product, and a nightly homecare lotion. Expect stronger hair structure, repaired follicles, and increased thickness and density.

LET'S GET YOU GLOWING AGAIN

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about microneedling.

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that uses ultra fine, sterile needles to stimulate your skin’s natural ability to heal and regenerate itself. The result is healthier, more radiant skin overtime, with improvements seen in texture, tone, fine lines, scarring and overall skin quality.

The needles create controlled micro-injuries in your skin’s dermis, which is the deeper layer of your skin. This triggers the wound healing cascade, activating fibroblasts, and releasing growth factors that stimulate collagen and elastin production. We are literally remodelling your skin to be its strongest, healthiest version.

Microneedling is one tool in the toolkit — and a really versatile one. Anyone wanting to improve their skin quality is a good candidate.

You might already be getting Botox, which works on the musculature of the face to reduce expression lines — but it doesn’t address skin quality. Or fillers, which restore volume and structure — but again, don’t touch the skin itself. Microneedling fills that gap. It works directly on the skin, improving texture, tone, and resilience from within.

It’s also a popular choice for people who want real results without the risks of burns or extended downtime that come with lasers and more aggressive resurfacing treatments. If you’re after youthful, smooth, fresh-looking skin through a minimally invasive approach — microneedling is worth considering.

Microneedling is considered safe for most skin types, but there are certain circumstances where it may not be appropriate:

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • History of keloid scarring or poor wound healing
  • Autoimmune disease or immunosuppressant medication
  • Active tanning or frequent tanning bed use
  • Active widespread acne
  • History of cancer or premalignant lesions in the treatment area
  • Current or recent chemotherapy or radiation therapy
  • Blood thinners or clotting disorders
  • Accutane use within the last 6 months

This list isn’t exhaustive, which is exactly why I use a thorough intake form before every first appointment. If anything flags as a potential concern, we’ll always discuss it openly before proceeding. Your safety comes first, always. If I don’t feel we can safely move forward, I will tell you honestly

When performed correctly microneedling is one of the safest minimally invasive skin treatments available. Like any procedure, risks do exist:

The most common side effects are temporary — dryness, flaking, redness, and sensitivity in the days following treatment. These are all normal parts of the healing process and resolve on their own.

Less common risks include infection, pigment changes, and in rare cases abnormal scarring. The vast majority of these are easily avoided by following your aftercare instructions carefully — which I go over with you before you leave and send home in writing.

Microneedling is the main event — the bread and butter. You are going to see great results from the treatment alone.

PRF and advanced serums are optional enhancements. They won’t make or break your results, but they can improve your skin’s healing response, support recovery, and reduce the risk of post-treatment irritation. Think of them as giving your skin the best possible environment to do what it’s already doing.

If you’re curious about whether an add-on is right for you, we’ll discuss it at your consultation — no pressure either way.

The short answer? No — it shouldn’t hurt. A topical numbing cream is applied 20–30 minutes before your treatment to ensure you’re comfortable throughout.

Most clients are pleasantly surprised by how tolerable it is. The device sounds a little intimidating but is much gentler than it seems! That said, some areas can be slightly more sensitive than others — the hairline and upper lip in particular.

I monitor your comfort throughout the entire treatment and we can slow down, adjust, or stop at any time. You are always in control.

Downtime is minimal, but here’s what to expect day by day:

On the day of your treatment you’ll leave looking pink and flushed, with a tight, sunburnt sensation — this is completely normal and expected. By the next morning, most of the redness has usually subsided, though you may notice some blotchy or pink areas.

By 48 hours, most redness is resolved. You may start to feel a little itchy and notice some light flaking as your skin continues to heal — this is a good sign. Within 7 days you are typically fully healed.

I send every client home with a thorough aftercare instruction list covering exactly what products to use immediately after treatment and when to start reintroducing your normal skincare routine. General guidelines include no makeup for at least 24 hours (48–72 is even better), and no sweating or exercise for 24–48 hours.

Have questions during your healing? I’m always reachable.

This truly depends on your skin goals. As a general starting point, most clients benefit from 3-4 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. For general maintenance and skin health, 3-4 sessions per year is typically effective. If you’re looking to more aggressively treat scarring or significantly improve texture and tone, more frequent sessions closer together may be beneficial.

While you’ll notice an immediate glow once your skin has healed, the real results come from consistently stimulating your skin to repair itself. Each session ramps up collagen production and builds on the last — if you’re looking for lasting changes or true skin remodelling, a series of treatments will help you achieve those goals.

We’ll always discuss a realistic treatment plan at your consultation based on your specific skin and what you’re hoping to achieve.

When you arrive, the treatment room is just off the front foyer — no need to venture through my home.

We’ll start with a brief consultation, review your intake form, and make sure you’re comfortable and ready to proceed. I’ll then cleanse your skin and apply numbing cream for 20–30 minutes while I prepare everything — if you’re having PRF, your blood will be collected and processed during this time.

The treatment itself takes approximately 30 minutes. Afterwards I’ll walk you through your aftercare and send you home with everything you need.

Plan for about 90 minutes for your first visit — repeat appointments tend to be quicker.
